The Nanooks get a tough pair of road wins

LACEY, Wash-The Nanook men's basketball team got a well deserved win over the weekend to keep their chances of a birth in the GNAC playoffs solid.

It took overtime to do it but the Nanooks got a 68-67win over a confident St. Martins team. St. Martin's was coming off a 60-52 win over Alaska Anchorage the now third team in the conference

The win was the first at St. Martin's since 2005.

Leading the way was this week's Red Lion Co-Player of the Week Sergej Pucar (Putz-ar) with his 21 points.
The Nanooks had a 6 point lead with a few minutes left in regulation but couldn't hit a shot as St. Martin's forced overtime.
Putzar scored all of UAF's 10 points in overtime in the win.

This Saturday the Nanooks go into Anchorage to take on the Seawolves for the revenge game. Both teams are 8-5 in conference play with the Nanooks in fourth and UAA in third place because of overall records.
