Nanooks couldn't force overtime and fall 5-4 to the Wildcats

MARQUETTE, MICH.-The Nanooks rallied in the final period but Northern Michigan holds on for a 5-4 victory. The Wildcats improved to 5-0 at home when leading into the third period.

Northern Michigan was up 2-1 going into the third period but in that frame six total goals were scored.

Erik Higby scored just 42 seconds into the period and gave Northern a 3-1 advantage but just a little over two minutes later Brandon Morely found the net on a power play to make it a 3-2 game.

But everyime the Nanooks got within one the Wildcats would answer, especially on the power play. The Wildcats went 3-6 on power plays.

UAF led shots on goal with 35 to Northern's 17. The Wildcats made their's count while the Nooks were getting goals on Mathiaas Dahlstrom but just not quite enought. Dahlstrom tightened up in the third shutting out the Nanooksin the last nine minutes of the game. Dahlstrom had 28 saves on the night.

For different Nanooks scored their last goal was by Colton Parayjo on a power play with 11:31 to go.
