Nanooks Basketball split first 2013 games.

The Nanook men's basketball team is ringing in the New Year with a huge road victory over the Central Washington Wildcats.

82–75 was the final. This win was the third time ever that the Nanooks won in Central Washington and it also stops a 17 game road losing streak.

Pat Voeut was hot leading the Nooks with 25 points going 10 of 13 from the field. Dominique Brinson added 14 as well.

The Nanooks are now 7 and 4 overall and 2–1 in the GNAC.

Now the Nooks will travel to Western Washington to face the Northwest Nazerene Crusaders who are also coming off a huge win over the 25th ranked Anchorage Seawolves.

In women's basketball Nanooks were hosting the number nine Clan of Simon Fraser.

The Clan started the game on a 7–0 run but the Nanooks made it a 10–7 game with an And One by Taylor Alternburg who finished with nine points and a career high 5 steals. Simon Fraser then went on a run thanks to the hot shooting of Kristina Collins hitting four threes in the first half.

The Nanooks forced 31 turnovers but the Clan were too much and never trailed in their seventh straight win 71–56.

Nayo Raincock–Ekunwe had 23 points and 16 boards for the Clan.

Jacqueline Lovato led the Nanooks with 15 points and 8 rebounds.

The Nooks host Western Washington on Saturday.
