FAIRBANKS-Last night the Nanook women's basketball team was oh so close to upsetting the sixth ranked Seattle Pacific Falcons.
It was a close game throughout the Falcons led 28-25 at the half. Late in the second half as the Naooks were down 11 points but Kelly Logue scored eight straight points and the Nanooks made it a two possession game. She finished with 10.
Suzanna Ohlsen led the way for the Falcons with a team high 19 points. Katie Benson was sacked with foul problems but added 17 points. But Jordan Wilson had a game high 25 points, nine boards and six steals.
The Nanooks would get within two with three seconds left but Seattle Pacific made timely free throws and Benissa Bulaya's half court heave was block at the buzzer and the Falcons escape with 71-68 win.
