FAIRBANKS-The Alaska Nanooks volleyball team learned a lot about themselves while in Hawaii this weekend. The Nanooks were swept in the three of the four matches against four Hawaii schools but there were some bright spots.
The Nanooks had a .225 attacking clip against BYU-Hawaii the fifth ranked team in the nation and played them very tough despite the 25-17, 25-21, 25-16 defeat. Against Chaminade UAF won their first set of the year 25-20 limiting the Swords to a .034 attacking percentage. They lost an intense third set that went 28-26.
Also Sam Harthun has 8 more kills (48) through four games than last season. The Nanooks will be back home this Friday for the Nanook Classic.
