FAIRBANKS, Ak-Staying on the hill we go to the Rifle team who had an impressive outing against the number three Kentucky Wildcats in their last rifle match.
Was it enough though?
The Nanooks posted a season high four thousand six hundred eighty seven points but the score came short of Kentucky's 4705. The Nanooks score broke their earlier season high of 4760 which was against number one West Virginia back in November. The rifle team had season highs in both air rifle and small bore. The Nanooks were only down one going into air rifle but Kentucky had a number of shooter post 590s or better to pull away.
Sophomore Ryan Anderson led the Nooks in both events and finished second overall with a 587. In fourth with a 585 was freshmen Tim Sherry.
The Nanooks have some confidence but it won't get easier as they host the two TCU Horned Frogs Saturday and Monday.
