There will be an open house Tuesday on plans to bring North Slope natural gas to the Fairbanks area.
The meeting will be held at the Fairbanks North Star Borough assembly chambers Tuesday from 5:30 to 7:30pm
The session is sponsored by the Alaska Energy Authority and the Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority.
Residents will be able to meet with Commissioner Susan Bell of the Department of Commerce, Community and Economic Development and with AEA Deputy Director Gene Therriault.
The plan to truck natural gas to the Fairbanks region from the North Slope is seen as the fastest way to ease high energy prices, primarily in heating oil, which have soared in recent years.
