FAIRBANKS- Miners from across the state are meeting at the Carlson Center, as part of an arctic mining symposium. The Alaska Miners Association hosts the biennial conference, which focuses on technical training for mining professionals. The Executive Director for AMA, Deantha Crockett, says continuing education is very important to miners. “Everyone in the courses right now and tomorrow have a keen interest in learning more about that topic, learning more to add to their credentials, learning more to apply to their operations."
The public is also invited to learn more about mining operations during the large trade show starting Wednesday morning. The convention will have about 140 exhibitors. Anyone can walk through and learn about companies involved with mining in Alaska.
