Military Stand Down this Weekend

FAIRBANKS, Alaska- Today, volunteers handed out clothing and supplies to support military veterans who are in need. Anyone with a military I.D. could enter the Centennial building in Pioneer Park, but the gear was mainly for veterans who are at risk of becoming homeless. The event is largely organized by community– based organizations. Tomorrow, the Stand Down event starts at 7: 30 am and offers veterans many types of medical services for free. The senior army instructor at Lathrop's JROTC progam says it's a great way for his students to show their respect to veterans who have made sacrifices and face hardships.
