Midwest team loses in NAHL Top Prospects Opener

TROY, MICH-Today was the start of the NAHL Top Prospects Tournament in Troy Michigan. Six Ice Dogs in all will be playing in front of college coaches and NHL scouts in days of action.

Ege Wyatt of the Ice Dogs and his NAHL 18U Select team shutout the High Performance Hockey League 3-0. Wyatt was plus one on defense.

The Midwest team featuring Nick Hinz, Brett Gervais, Lonnie Clary, Colton Wolter and Kyle Lee lost 4-1 to Central.

Clary got the loan goal and the lead for Midwest sqaud after a first period of hockey. But Central rallied with four unanswered goals, including a 3-0 run in the third period for the win.

Midwest will play the North team tomorrow.
