FAIRBANKS, AK-It's back again. The Martin Luther King Jr., Basketball Classic Tournament gets under way Thursday April 11th and runs through the 14th out at Lathrop High School.
Team from across the state are matching up mostly for the fun and love of the game. Money raised in this tournament will go back into the community in the form of a scholarship for a graduating senior. Balling and giving back is always a good combination. High school seniors are the youngest kids on the teams but after that anyone can get it on the fun.
Mark Graham, on of the tournament's organizaers, explains.
"It means a lot. I have young kids and any help that they can get from the community is a plus. Basically what we do is we go around and we raise money for the tournament and then we give back to high school seniors out with a scholarship that they want to go to college for, you know, any help that they need we try to provide it for them."
