Jury selection gets underway later this (Tuesday) morning in the Manslaughter trial involving 48 year old Alfred Harold Woods of Fairbanks.
Wood is accused in the death of 68 year old Native elder John Alexander of Circle.
Alaska State Troopers say on January 12, Woods was intoxicated and "looking for someone to fight" in the Steese Highway community.
Alexander was severely beaten, allegedly by Woods, and died about a month later in an Anchorage hospital.
Family members of Alexander spoke exclusively with News Center 11, and say "it's their hope justice is served."
If convicted, Woods faces as much as 20 years in jail.
