Man wanted in Fairbanks Dies in North Dakota

A man wanted on attempted murder charges in Fairbanks, has apparently killed himself in North Dakota.

 

Stanley, North Dakota Police identified him as 47 year old Lance Johnson of Montana.

Stanley police say officers responding to a reported bar fight chased a white pickup that was leaving the scene when they got there.

The truck stopped about two miles North of Stanley, where the man reportedly shot himself as officers were trying to talk to him.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Johnson was wanted on warrants from Fairbanks for assault with a weapon and attempted murder.

He was accused of cutting a man's throat at the Arctic Bar.
