A 60 year old Trapper Creek man died late Monday evening in a two vehicle crash along the Parks Highway.
In a news release, the Alaska State Troopers South Central Bureau of Highway Patrol Team, and state Commercial Enforcement officials responded to Milepost 104 around 11:45pm.
Troopers say David Roach had been traveling north bound on the Parks in his Toyota pickup when he crossed into the oncoming lane of traffic, and collided head-on with a southbound
Peterbuilt tractor trailer rig pulling double flatbed trailers.
Troopers say Roach died at the scene, and the driver of the tractor-trailer, 71 year old Donald Braun of Anchorage, sustained non-life threatening injuries.
Braun was transported by LifeMed to Providence Hospital in Anchorage for treatment.
Troopers say seat belts were worn by both drivers and alcohol appears to have been a factor in the crash.
