Alaska State Troopers say a body found Monday afternoon near Fairbanks has been positively identified as that of a 27 year old man who police say had been missing since Valentines Day.
In a news release, Troopers say just before 2 p.m. they received a report of an abandoned vehicle that was parked at the end of a secluded "cul-de-sac" outside of Fairbanks.
Troopers and Fairbanks Police responded, and in a wooded area near the vehicle, the body of Kyle Scott Reece was located.
In mid-March, Fairbanks Police had requested the public's help in locating Reece, who hadn't been in contact with family members since February 14.
Troopers have not released the manner in which Reece died, and say an investigation into the matter is on-going.
This is a developing story. News Center 11 will have more information as it becomes available.
