LNG Trucking could be another step closer

The state department of natural resources is proposing to grant rights of way to two companies that want to provide Fairbanks with liquefied natural gas by truck.

The D N R says both Spectrum Alaska and Polar L N G are qualified to build short North Slope pipelines. The step was required so that the companies could operate a pipeline to their proposed liquefied natural gas processing facilities.

The L N G plant would be needed to get the natural gas to Fairbanks by truck.

The Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority is considering bids for construction of the processing plant on the north slope.
