Lathrop girls place 6th, West Valley boys eliminated from state soccer tourn.

ANCHORAGE-The soccer season has ended for two of our Interior teams. Earlier today the Lathrop girls lost to Dimond 3-2.

It was a back and forth game as Lathrop was up 2-1 at the half thanks to Alexis Shipman and Kaitlan Spencer goals in the first half. Lathrop trailed early on after A Hannah Seild goal at the 7th minute for Dimond 0-1.

The Lynx completed the comeback as Maila Lyken's scored the game winner at the 76th minute. Seild had two goals to lead the Lynx.

Lathrop finishes sixth in the state and won 10 total games this season with a 10-2-2 record.

The West Valley boys lost 2-1 to Juneau last night. The Crimson Bears never trailed as the Wolfpack were eliminated from the tournament.

West Valley finished the year 9-5-2 overall.
