Lathrop gets playoff berth, Ravens roll

FAIRBANKS-#3 Lathrop defeats #5 Wasilla 42-32 tonight. The win clinches Lathrop's first playoff berth since 2004 and makes the Malemutes 4-0.

West Valley got its first win of the season with a 41-12 victory over visiting Houston.

Last night at Lathrop Stadium #3 Lathrop hosted #5 Wasilla in what would turn out to be a high scoring affair.

Chris Seminario had 155 yards and two TDs. The Malemutes churned out 359 rushing yards and four touchdowns on the ground.
 
After a Wasilla score it's 28-20 late in the third and Robert Tanner goes play action on a third and 16, throws it up and it's tipped but Derrick O'Neal has his eyes on the ball and takes the floating ball into the end zone. 35-20 Lathrop.
 
Wasilla would respond with a Devin Otto touchdown, his third of the night but Kurtis Martin blocks his second extra point of the game late in the fourth.
 
The Malemutes would tack on another score and win it 42-32 clinching its first playoff berth since 2004. They are 4-0 and have doubled their wins from 2012.
 
WEST VALLEY WINS
 
On the West side The Wolfpack got their first win of the season. Houston came to the Interior but they weren't welcomed with open arms at West Valley.
 
Charles Sudduth links up with Elijah Connell who goes down the sideline for a 55 yard TD with 3:15 left in the first. It was the first score of the game and West Valley led 6-0 after a missed extra point. Sudduth had two touchdown passes and rushed for two more.
 
In the second quarter Marqece McCray would scamper for a 46 yard score to make it 13-0 West Valley.
 
Then D'vnn Cooks would catch have big kick return in response to a Houston touchdown by Nai Sachoe connecting with River Ross for a three yard score. Cooks nabs a 33 yard touchdown pass from Sudduth to end the first half. 20-6 West Valley at that point and the Wolfpack would go on to win 41-12.
 
EIELSON WINS
 
The Ravens traveled to Barrow this weekend and but a hurting on the Whalers with a 71-14 win. More details as they become available.
