Lathrop football ranked third for first time in school history

FAIRBANKS-In high school sports we go to the gridiron to take a look at the Alaska Sports Broadcasting Network's football poll. Three is the big number for Lathrop. There are 3-0, surpassed last year's win total with those three wins and their ranking in the ASBN poll in the three spot is the highest in school history.

For the other large schools Service is number one. South, the defending champs, lost to Moorpark out California and fell to fourth after being number one for two weeks. Palmer is second and the Lathrop Malemutes are third. Wasilla is fifth in the rankings.
For the medium schools SoHi is on top followed by Juneau who are coming off a 55-20 win over North Pole. The Patriots dropped to fifth after that loss. Kenai and Kodiak are second and third.

There will be some big matchups and important games for ranked Interior teams. For the medium schools tomorrow night at 7 p.m. North Pole is playing at Ketchikan with a chance to maintain their fifth spot or move up. Number three Kenai is playing at number four Kodiak this week.

In large schools matchup this Friday will be another big game for Lathrop. The valley boys, the fifth ranked Wasilla Warriors, will come to Lathrop stadium for a 7 p.m. game.
