KUAC drops APRN programming

FAIRBANKS- KUAC radio will cut several programs to compensate for funding losses. The local radio station has ended their subscription to Alaska Public Radio Network (APRN). APRN provides their listeners programs like, "Alaska News Nightly" and "Talk of Alaska." General Manager for KUAC, Keith Martin says they couldn't drop other programs because most are tied to larger subscriptions, and that this cut would have the least impact. Cutbacks at UAF have reduced KUAC's budget by $170,000. Dropping APRN will save KUAC about $30,000.
