Krause and Stagdon sweep at GFRA races

FAIRBANKS-Kirk Krause swept the modified class holding off points leader Scott Sluka on Saturday night. Krause wasn't the only driver to lower the broom on the dirt track at the Mitchell Raceway on Saturday night.Chris Stagdon swept the dollar stock races as well.

John Clarkson went 2-3 in the Sportsman class with a main event win.

Toughest loss goes to Joe Heath. He lead the whole main event for the mini-bombers but lost a tire late giving Clutchall his second win of the night. There were no sprint class races on Saturday.

Now this weekend there will be no races at the Mitchell because most of the GFRA drivers will be in Kenai this weekend for the Soldotna Progress Days Dirt Shootout.
The GFRA will be back at the Mitchell on Friday Aug 1 for Canned Food night. Four cans and $5 will get you in next Friday night.

For point standings three division leaders have leads of 30 points or less with about a month left of races.

Bill Cutchall leads the minibomber class with Joe Heath 30 back. Heath is up in the dollar stock class by 27 over Leslie Lees. Steve Martin has a 19 point advantage in the sprint class with Jay Coghill in second place. Scott Sluka in the modifieds class and John Clarkson in the sportsman class both have sizable leads.
