Judge rules in police lawsuit

Today United States District Court granted the City's motion to dismiss a case involving two former Fairbanks City Police Officers.

Former Lieutenant Doug Whorton and Officer Al Hutton were seeking compensation for lost wages, benefits, and punitive damages.

The  two argued they were dismissed in retaliation for divulging information to Former City Mayor Terry Strle in 2008 regarding workplace safety and other concerns in the Department.

U.S. District Court Judge Ralph Beistline granted the City's Motion and dismissed the ongoing case that earlier this year led to a hung jury.
