With the nation's economy slowing down, so is the opportunity for youths to find jobs.
Here in our community thankfully, there are numerous organizations that help young adults develop their skills.
A forum made up of representatives from Job Achievement, 4H, Girl Scouts Farthest North Council, and UAF School of Management, discussed what programs were available.
The general consensus was that every young adult needed guidance and direction to achieve the confidence and skills to develop their careers.
Dana Novak with Jr. Achievement says there are good things going on in the community.
"The main goal was to talk about how Jr. Achievement as well as the other programs
are available here in the community to help develop business leaders.
And to help promote fiscal literacy and financial responsibility among our students, and all the different programs that are available
For teachers as well as outside of school."
