Interior swimmers rank top five in the state

FAIRBANKS-This weekend will be another all schools meet at the Westcott Pool in North Pole Middle School. There are just five all school meets left until regionals start on Halloween.

At the last meet last Saturday North Pole's Hannah Boatman won the 100 freestyle in under a minute (59.10). Teammate Martha Hood won the 200 IM and 100 backstroke.

The West Valley boys won the 200 and 400 free relays. Hutchison's Joe Vorderbruggen won the 100 butterfly and got second in the 200 IM.

Now going into Saturday here is how the local swimmers and divers rank in the state. West Valley's Tommy O'Donoghue is number one in the 100 breaststroke. Lathrop's Zachary Campbell is second in 1 meter diving. The Wolfpack's Luis Marquez is fifth in the 200 freestyle. The Wolfpack boys are third in the 400 yard freestyle relay.

Representing the Interior girls is North Pole's Martha Hood. Hood is fourth in the state in the 50 yard freestyle and 100 yard butterfly.
