Interior running season starts this weekend

FAIRBANKS-As the snow melts the feet will hit the pavement. The Interior running season kicks off this weekend. Running events are scheduled on pretty much every weekend throughout the spring and summer.

This Saturday will be the Spring Fling at 11 am at the Patty Center. Suggested $5 donations go to the Lathrop Cross Country team.

Next Saturday on the 12th it will be the 20th Beat Beethoven 5K also at the Patty Center. Runners will try to finish the the 5K race before the end of Beethoven's 5th symphony. Early bib pick up is this Monday from 5-7 pm at the Patty Center. You can register now for $25 before midnight of April 7.

On April 19 runners will lace em up for the 34th Annual Tok Trot. On that same day they'll have the 5th Annual Run for Relief.

Then May starts with the 33rd Chena River Run which is the opening race in the Flint Hills Series. That series which is composed of 8 races throughout the Interior concludes with the Equinox Marathon in September.

The Northern Trails Running series is a seven race series beginning in June and ends in Late August with Musk Ox Run.
