Interior Baseball season coming down to last games

FAIRBANKS, AK-Some important baseball games for MAC teams. Last night at Arco Field the Lathrop Malemutes swept the Delta Junction Huskies winning 11-1 in game one and closing out game two here 12-1. In that second game. Wyatt Berg led the way going 2 for 3, a triple, and 3 RBI. Mekiah Stansel and Terrel Ford earned wins in the double header.

Next door West Valley faced the Eielson Ravens and it was all West Valley picking it up in the bottom the third with the Wolfpack up 11-0 and Casey Lewandosky brings a runner home with a single up the first base line. The Ravens would get on the board with an aggressive slide to home but it was 17-3 at the top of the fifth. The Wolfpack had three innings of at least five runs in their win.

The game of the night was North Pole and Monroe. The Patriots were down 8-0 going into the third then out come the rally sticks. 8 runs scored in the third to tie the game then they explode for 11 runs in the fifth inning. North Pole survived a grand slam by Scooter Bynum in the sixth inning and close out a high scoring game 19-14.

Tonight the Mid Alaska Conference title is up for grabs. Lathrop and West Valley both have a loss. If either team sweeps they'll win the MAC. If there is a split then the MAC title will depend on the outcome of the North Pole and West Valley game on Saturday.

Tonight's game one will be on Marlin Field and game two at 7:30 will be on Arco Field.
