Ice Dogs take game one three gamer with the Wild

FAIRBANKS-On Thursday night the Ice Dogs faced their other rival the Wenatchee Wild in game one of their last series with the Wild in the regular season. Fairbanks set the tone with a strong first period.

A little over seven minutes in Chandler Madry lights the lamp and then just two minutes later Tayler Munson scores thanks to Viktor Liljegren and Willie Brooks helpers.

The Wild, however, got two goals in the second to tie it 2-2 with James Mathias and Omar Mullan tallies.

But Brett Gervais went into hero mode and scored with two minutes remaining in the period to give the Dogs a 3-2 lead. Veteran Ice Dogs goalie Kevin Aldridge did the rest stoning the Wild in the third period. Aldridge had 20 saves.

The defense held the Wild to single digit shots in each period including just five in the third. The Ice Dogs outshoot the Wild by eight and win 3-2. The season series is now 4-4.
