Ice Dogs sweep Wenatchee

FAIRBANKS, Ak-The Ice Dogs fed off their home crowd and their recent string of steller play and get a 3-0 sweep the west division leader with a 4-3 win Saturday night.

With the Ice Dogs winning games one and two by the identical score of 3-1 it was time to close the deal. This game had a lot more offense in it as the Wild figured out the Ice Dogs defense and goalie Steve Perry.

The Ice Dogs jumped out with 2-0 lead with Jacob Hetz getting his third goal of the series to put the Ice Dogs on top in the first period. Garettt Clemment would score a goal as well just three minutes into the second period. The Wild would answer Clemment's goal with Nicholas Kuchera getting the visitors on the board in the second period. Less than a minute later Lonnie Clarly put the Ice dogs up 3-1 with his goal that was assisted by Brett Gervais and Johnny Mueller. Kyle Lee of the Ice Dogs would make it 4-2 with a goal late in the second. Wenatchee tried to make a comeback scoring halfway throught the third period but the Ice Dogs defense tightened and they hold off the Wild for a 4-3 win at home.

The Ice Dogs still trail Wenatchee in the division by two points. The Ice Dogs stay at home for another three game series against the Fresno Monsters.
