The Ice Dogs split series after winning four straight

FAIRBANKS, Ak-The Ice Dogs were in the Big Dipper this weekend hosting the Spingfield Jr. Blues who were on a four game winning streak and were coming off a sweep of Wenatchee and showed it with a 6-3 blowout of the Dogs on Friday. Ice Dogs responded with a gutsy performance taking the game to the limit on Saturday with a 2-1 shootout victory.

The Ice Dogs had to rally down 1-0. Garret Clemment scored on a power play mid-way through the third at the 10:51 to tie it 1-1.

Both goalies played huge games for their teams. Steve Perry 21 saves on 22 shots and Ryan Kellenberger stopped 39 of 41 Fairbanks shots on goal.
It took seven turns for the squads but Jayson Angus, the Beef Dog, scored a shootout goal along with Jacob Hetz to lift the Ice Dogs to victory.
