Ice Dogs return from road trip for six straight games at the Dipper

FAIRBANKS-The Ice Dogs are finally back in the Big Dipper this week. They've been on a six game road trip following the Christmas break. They played those games over a span of just nine days. Fairbanks finished 3-3 after the roadie. Defenseman Johnny Mueller reflects on that stretch of games which actually ended up below Ice Dogs standards.

"It's good to be back in the Dip. I mean the road trip is always a lot of fun with the guys but I mean by the end we all are tired. No excuses for us though it was a tough series-six games in inie days but I felt like 3-3 not good enought for us but a lot of teams would be happy with that result," Mueller said.

Now they'll be back in their own barn for six straight. First things first, starting tomorrow they host the Minnesota Magicians in a three game series. But the Ice Dogs have one of the best players in the NAHL on their roster right now.

Tayler Munson aka "T-Money" has been money. He was named NAHL Forward of the Month for December and NAHL player of the week to ring in the New Year. He has 14 straight games with a point-best in the league and is 4th in scoring with 35.

This Midwest division series pits the first place Ice Dogs against the last place Magicians. The Magicians are coming off a solid series split with the Wilderness allowing three goals in two games to the division runner up.

For this series the Ice Dogs don't want to give over look the Magicians they may have something up their sleeves.

"We have the toughest division in the league and every team is really good," Munson said. "I don't think there's any team that's not as good as any other team so we got to make sure we're not taking these guys for granted. They're really good actually so we just got to be ready for them."
