Ice Dogs lose series opener to Wenatchee

FAIRBANKS-The Ice Dogs weren't able to keep their four game winning streak going last night.

It looked that way with Hans Gorowsky giving the Ice Dogs an early 1-0 lead to start of the stick to cancer series. The Wild tied it by the end of the period the momentum went into the second period as Wenatchee scored 3 unanswered in the second and shutout the dogs in the period as well. Gustaf Johansson had 32 saves.

The Wild were timely being outshot 34-18 but win the first of three 4-2. The Wild went 2-5 on the power play as well.

Parker Toumie had two goals for the Wild while Tory Loggins and Brendan Harris both had two assists.

Wenatchee is 4-1 against the dogs this season but Fairbanks will have a chance to correct things tonight and Saturday.
