Ice Dogs have won five straight with 3-1 win over Wichita

FAIRBANKS-Kevin Aldridge isn't the only player hot right now for the Ice Dogs. His defensemen are on fire too. In last night's 3-1 win over Wichita Falls the Ice Dogs allowed won goal for the fifth straight game resulting in their fifth straight win.

The Ice Dogs were ahead 2-1 going into the second period after goals from Colton Wolter and Chandler Madry. Things for heated for the Ice Dogs as two fights occurred. Madry got in a scrum as did Johnny Mueller. They didn't appreciate some the hits on their teammates and they definitely let the Wildcats know it.

Those fights fired up the Ice Dogs in the second as Brett Gervais and Madry quickly cycled the puck around to defensman Doug Rose who came with the power at the end of his stick. The shot from the left circle bounced off the glove and leg pad of goalie Dave Zevnik and bounced in for the goal. The Ice Dogs would take a 3-1 lead into the third. The defense and Aldridge brough it home.

Aldridge made 26 saves on 27 shots to secure the one two goal victory for the Ice Dogs who have won five straight games. Rose and Madry each had a goal and an assist for Fairbanks. Lonnie Clary added two assists as well.

The Ice Dogs will look to sweep the Wildcats tonight at 7:30 in the Big Dipper.
