FAIRBANKS-The Fairbanks Ice Dogs have a pair of road games this weekend in the "Snatch" taking on the Wenatchee Wild. This could be good for Fairbanks.
The Wild are the Midwest division basement team right now with 5-8-2 record. Goalie Chase Perry is allowing 2.5 goals per game and is ranked last in the NAHL in saves percentage-90 percent. However, Wenatchee's trump card is the power play. The Wild are second in the league in successful power plays.
The Ice Dogs are 2-3 in their last 5 and are coming off a 4-2 win against the Minnesota Magicians. Fairbanks has a 6-2 road record this season.
Getting points will allow them to keep pace with division leader Kenai. The Brown Bears have won seven in a row with 24 points. The Ice Dogs are third in the Midwest with 20 and are a point back of the Wilderness.
After this weekend the Ice Dogs will be back in the Dip for almost a month for three weekend home series.
