Ice Dogs fall in division road game

WENATCHEE, WASH.-The Fairbanks Ice dogs recent hiccups contiue with a 3-2 Midwest division loss to the Wentachee Wild tonight.

The old west division rivals squared off and the Wild had 2-0 lead after the first period. Troy Loggins scored a short handed goal to bookend that period while teammate Gadel Gumerov scored with 4:54 into the opening period.

Doug Rose got an unassisted score to put the Ice Dogs on the baord less than three minutes into the second stanza. But Wenatchee' Nicholas Rivera put on in with six minutes to go to close out the period and take a 3-1 lead into intermission.

Victor Munter tried to rally the Ice Dogs scoring after 12:44 ticked off the clock in regulation But the Wild hold prevail late goalie Gustaf Johansson made 36 saves on 38 Fairbanks shots for Wentachee.

The Ice Dogs have lost four out of their last six games. Both teams will be back on the ice in Wenatchee tomorrow at 7 p.m.
