FAIRBANKS-Here's a little preview of this weekend's NAHL final four the Robertson Cup semifinals between the Michigan Warriors and the Fairbanks Ice Dogs. The two teams have some history. Guess who Fairbanks beat to win the Robertson Cup back in 2011? Yep. Michigan. That was a 4-2 final in that title game back in 2011.

Current Ice Dogs Tayler Munson, Colton Wolter and Nick Hinz were a part of that Robbie Cup team. Michigan has no players from that 2011 roster but head coach Moe Mantha is still the bench boss.

Who are the Warriors? The Warriors went 30-20-10 in the regular season finishing second in the North Division. They swept the Janesville Jets and defeated no.1 North seed Port Huron 3-1 to get to the semis. They have the top penalty kill in the postseason. This could turn out to be a best defense versus best offense matchup. The Ice Dogs have five players with at least 44 points this season. Michigan was one in forward Zack Szjarner (40).

Trevor Gorsuch is the top goalie stats wise in the playoffa. He has a 6-1 record with threeshutouts, saving at 97 percent and 0.9 goals allowed average. He's Michigan's top player. Tyler Groat leads them in scoring with six points and has five goals in the postseason.
