Ice Dogs back to work after Christmas this weekend

FAIRBANKS-The Fairbanks Ice Dogs will be back in action this week. On Friday they start a two game series on the road in Bismarck, North Dakota against the Bismark Bobcats.

The Bobcats are second in the Central division with an 18-8-3 record. Filip Starzynski and Nate Repensky lead the cub with 28 points a-piece. They also have ninth ranked Aaron Nelson in goal. With a 92 saves percentage.

Bismarck has gone 3-2 in their last five outings. They have a knack for extra time with five shootout decisions and two overtime games this season. They also have a knack for killing penalties. Their 91.25% on the pk is ranked fourth in the NAHL this year.

The Ice Dogs are rolling going 11-1 in their last 12 games. They are 7-2 against non-division opponents.

Fairbanks has a short week as well. After this weekend's series they are at the Minnesota Magicians on Monday 30th and then play at the Austin Bruins on Tuesday which is New Year's Eve.

The Ice Dogs (21-8) are tops in the Midwest Division with four players tallying 20 or more points led by Tayler Munson and Colton Wolter's 25. Goalie Kevin Aldridge has 14 wins on the year.

The puck drops Friday at 7:15 in Bismarck.
