FAIRBANKS-Let's see school just started so you got high school football, cross country, swimming and diving will be starting at the end of the month. School just started today. But something is missing. Oh yea volleyball.

As far as 4A goes Dimond has won the two of the last three state titles. It could be West Valley's year. The defending MAC champs bring back almost all of their players from last year and add Lathrop transfer Ruthie Hebard. More on that coming soon. North Pole and a young Malemute team will be in the mix as well in the MAC.

Mount Edgecumbe has won back to back 3A titles. Monroe finished third at state last year with Andi Clark and three other players making all conference to send off long time head coach Mike Lessley out with pride. Valdez won the Aurora Conference Tournament a year ago over the Rams. The Hutchison Hawks will look to bounce back in the Aurora with a couple of six footers and led by junior Christine Everts.

The prep season will be tipping off this weekend for some Interior Teams. In the Palmer Jamboree this Friday and Saturday Delta, Colony, Palmer and Hutchison will play in their first action of the season.

Lathrop, West Valley, Monroe will have their season openers in the Interior next Tuesday and Wednesday.
