FAIRBANKS, AK-Two games in two different locations tonight but the one thing they had in common was one team displaying the will to win. At Wright Field in North Pole the Patriots hostd the West Valley Wolfpack.

West Valley was up4-0 in the top of the second. After a runs was walked in giving North Pole its first score Brandon Becker stepped up to the plate and lauched a triple that cleared the bases and tied the game at 4-4. Both teams would gain and lose leads. It was 8-8 in the bottom of the fifth but in the bottom of the sixth North Pole had a 12-8 lead. Then West Valley started their rally.

The Wolfpack chipped away by getting some timely hits and getting men on base thanks to some errant pitching by the Patriots. Those pitched turned into walks and walks turned into runs. Top of the seventh and West Valley ties the game at 13-13 after another base runner got to walk home. Then Jonatan Lovell ripped a single down third base line for an rbi giving West Valley a 15-13 lead and the Wolfpack comeback and win 17-13 over North Pole.

Back in Fairbanks in Arco Field the Lathrop Malemutes and Monroe Rams had a classic. The Rams were ahead for most of this game but this would go a full seven innings. Terrell Ford turned out to be the difference in the game and he happened to be a Malemute. Ford led the comeback for Lathrop with his three hits including a double that brought in runs for his team. When Lathrop gained the lead he held off the Rams by working from the mound pitching the last four innings for Lathrop. The Malemutes hold on to win a nailbiter 10-9 over Monroe.
