Family members of the former Fairbanks based Alaska State Trooper Commander accused of sexual abuse of a minor came out today in support of visitation rights.
76-year-old Warren Tanner was released on 35 thousand dollars bail to a third party custodian early this year.
Today, family members came to court asking the Judge to amend bail conditions so Tanner and his wife, who is his 3rd party custodian, would be able to visit with their grandchildren.
Those visitations were denied by Judge Lyle who said Tanner remains a physical threat to any young children due to the seriousness of the allegations against him.
Family members took to the stand in support of the change, including Tanner's custodian-wife who, when asked by the State Prosecutor if her allegiance lies with her husband or grandchildren, said she would choose her husband.
