Goldpanners on top of the ABL

FAIRBANKS, AK-Well look who's in first place of the Alaska Baseball League. Your Alaska Goldpanners are on top of the ABL after a three game sweep of the Kenai Peninsula Oilers this weekend.

The Panners had to make a comeback to win the third game yesterday but that's their M-O. Alaska trailed 4-1 in the bottom of the eighth but they put together four runs for a 5-4 win propelling them to number one in the standings at 7-3. The Goldpanners have won 12 of their last 13 games.

The Anchorage Bucs (9-4) and Mat-Su Miners (9-6) are a half game back. Next up for Alaska is a road test taking on the Anchorage Glacier Pilots on Tuesday in Mulcahy Stadium.
