Goldpanners split double header on the road

FAIRBANKS, AK-The Alaska Goldpanners are trying to work themselves out of a rut while on the road. The Goldpanners came in having lost the last three games but they split a double header with the Kenai Peninsual Oilers last night in Coral Seymour Memorial Park. There was an indentical score for both games too.

The Goldpanners took the first game 2-1 in 7 innings. Casey Munoz and Payden Cawley-Lamb or PCL as his teammates call him, both had rbis late for the win. Pitcher Nathan Bannister got the win and is 5-0 as a starter for Alaska.

In game two Mike Wieland drove in the winning runs for Kenai in their 2-1 victory. The Goldpanners are now a half game out of first behind the Mat Su Miners.

The four game series with the Oilers ends tonight.
