Goldpanners schedule features opening trip to SoCal region

FAIRBANKS, AK-The high school baseball season is over in the Interior but the Goldpanners baseball season is just a few weeks away. The 54th season for the GoldPanners will start on the road this year.

The Fairbanks squad will be in the Barona Bash Invitational Tournament. The tournament is in southern California starting June seventh through the ninth at the Barona Resort and Casino. The Goldpanners will play the Oceanside Waves, Barona Stars and San Diego Force.

From there they'll play the Chinooks for their first Alaska Baseball League game. The first home game will be June 17th against the San Francisco Seals. And of course on June 21st-the 100 and eighth Midnight Sun Game. The San Francisco Seals will be the opponent this year. This season the Goldpanners will host half of the Midnight Sun games. The Goldpanners also open their home ABL slate on June 25th against the Anchorage Bucs.

The Goldpanners will be under new head coach Bryan Harris who comes in from Santa Ana College. The Panners have players from Gonzaga, the University of Oregon, the University of Arizona to highlight their roster for the summer season.
