Goldpanners lose two in a row

ANCHORAGE, AK-After taking a loss in their last game of a seven game homestand to the Glacier Pilots on Sunday the Alaska Goldpanners drop two games in two days.
However this one was really close.

In last night's game in Anchorage against the Bucs in the top of the ninth the Bucs had a 2-0 lead and with two outs David Edwards hits a solo home run, his fourth of the season which is tied for first in the ABL, to make 2-1. But it was not enough to engineer a late rally as the Bucs get the 2-1 win.

Andrew Sopko threw a complete game with 5ks for the Bucs. Colin Ferguson hit a home run and rbi for the Bucs as well.

The Goldpanners now have a one game lead on the Mat-Su Miners for first in the league. Alaska now heads to Kenai for a four game series against the Kenai Peninsula Oilers before the ABL Showcase and All-Star Break.
