Goldpanners lose back to back games

PALMER, AK-The Alaska Goldpanners for just the second time this season have dropped consecutive games. You may have to chalk up energy for this L.

The Panners were coming off a 15 inning loss the night before to the Glacier Pilots and it showed. The Mat -Su Miners controlled the game for a 9-2 win in Palmer at Hermon Brothers Field.

Second basemen Brendan Farney knocked out a grandslam for the Miners off of Drew Mitrisin, part of a six run third inning to give Mat-Su a sizable 6-0 lead. It was not Mitrisin's night allowing 11 hits and 9 runs.

David Edwards prevented the shutout going 4 for 4 and was responsible for the Alaska's 2 runs.

The Panners are now two games back and in the third place in the ABL with a 7-5 record. The two teams meet again tonight.
