CHUGIAK, AK-The Goldpanners continued their slate of road games last evening and they also continued their winning ways in their first Alaska Baseball League game of the year. Fairbanks was in Chugiak last night and had to mount a comeback to take down the Chinooks but the Golpanners pulled it off with a 5-4 win. The Goldpanners rallied with three runs in the top of the fifth to gain the lead after trailing 3-1.
Jimmy Sinatro had the bat working going 3-5 and had a solo home run to lead the Goldpanners. Kyle Herrington's double brought in two runners for Fairbanks to give them the lead for good. Herrington, a sophomore from New Mexico Highlands University made a great first impression with that debut. Herrington joined the team Tuesday.
The Goldpanners face the Anchorage Bucs tonight in another road ABL game. Fairbanks is 3-0-1 to start the season.
