Giant Map Moves Across the State

FAIRBANKS- Each year, local elementary students get a geography lesson they won’t soon forget. That’s because they get to explore a giant map that only fits a gymnasium. National Geographic manages several giant maps and loans them to schools to spark interest in Geography.  The current map focuses on the Pacific Ocean and highlights underwater mountains, trenches, and sea life. In the coming days, the map will move to Barnette Magnet School, Ladd Elementary, and Ticasuk Brown Elementary.
