FAIRBANKS- As we reported last week, the Chief Andrew Isaac Health Center is slated to receive about $20 million of a federal appropriations bill. The Director of Health at Chief Andrew Isaac, Victor Joseph, says the funding will strengthen the clinic for their customers. “Part of it is sustaining and part of it is growth,” Joseph says. “It becomes very important to us that we’re able to provide services as we currently are, but with expansions.” He says he expects there to be expansions in the physical therapy department, and the funding will help fill important dental and clinical positions. The funding will also assist the Tanana Chiefs Conference to pay for new positions in village health clinics.
