Fugitive arrested

FAIRBANKS- Fairbanks Police confirm that 28-year old Julius "JT" Chambers was arrested last night.

Chambers was taken into custody at about 11:pm in the North Pole area at a home on Newby Road.

Police received word that he was there, and the house was surrounded. Investigators say everyone in the home except Chambers came out, and a Alaska State Trooper K-9 was sent into the dwelling.

Police say Chambers was hiding under a futon, and was taken into custody without incident.

Last Wednesday, police arrested Chambers in Fairbanks on a warrant, but they say he escaped by driving off in a police vehicle.

While at large, Chambers took to his social media page, posting photos and messages in which he said, "I WILL BATHE IN THE BLOOD OF MY ENEMY'S AND GLADLY PAY A FEE OF BLOOD AND BONE."

Fairbanks Police, Alaska State Troopers and members of the U. S. Marshals task force were involved in last night's arrest.
