The Fairbanks North Star Borough School District School board confirms that 4 employees were placed on paid administrative leave.
This action stems from an investigation being conducted of how the district handled complaints regarding Hutchison High School Tutor, Claude Fowlkes.
Fowlkes is currently in jail accused of sexually abusing a 15-year-old male student.
Earlier this week the board announced they voted unanimously to terminate Superintendent Pete Lewis after he "failed to perform" his duties.
A preliminary investigation showed numerous claims were filed against Fowlkes, dating back to 2008.
The Board's President Heidi Haas says the investigation is still continuing, "The school board was taking time to process all of the information and not make any judgments before information was available and so it does take time to do that; as we stated on Monday, the scope of the investigation was much more than anticipated."
