The Fort Wainwright soldier who died Sunday after being found injured in his barracks room has been identified, and the death has officially been ruled a suicide.

Army officials say he was 21-year-old Specialist Marvin Scott of Florida.

He was an air traffic control operator with the 1st Battalion, 52nd Aviation Regiment.

When found, he was suffering from a severe head injury, and was pronounced dead at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital.
